      Amnat Charoen is one of Thailand's newly established provinces and a total area of some 3,161,248 sq.kms . Established as a town during the reign of King Rama III , first under the jurisdiction of Nakhon Khemarat. and later moved to be under Ubon Ratchathani. It was elevated into a province on December 1,2536 B.E.(1993). It is divided into six districts and one subdistrict.
